Levenmouth can supply some of Edinburgh’s vast housing requirement – provided a raillink is in place

This huge demand for 50,000 new houses cannot be met from within the boundaries of Edinburgh city and certainly not within 12 years.    Levenmouth can supply part of this demand (the Strategic Land Area alone, close to Cameron Bridge, envisages 1,650 new homes being built).  The major constraint is transport – only rail can get people from Levenmouth to Edinburgh in around an hour.   Win-win – good for the capital, good for Levenmouth
